In-App Purchase Terms
Listing and browsing are free, and always will be. These terms cover the optional paid features — what each one does, and what happens when something goes wrong.
Effective 16 September 2026
1. What is for sale
| Feature | Price | Type | What you get |
|---|---|---|---|
| Skipper 7-Day Pass | $1.99 | One-time | 7 days of match monitoring |
| Skipper 30-Day Pass | $4.99 | One-time | 30 days of match monitoring |
| Skipper Monthly | $2.99/month | Subscription | Continuous monitoring until cancelled |
| Last Call Activation | $0.99 | One-time, per listing | One listing promoted |
| Instant Identity Verification | $4.99 | One-time | Identity verified without waiting for review |
Prices are in US dollars and exclude tax where tax applies. The store shows the final amount before you confirm.
Skipper Monthly is a subscription and has its own Subscription Terms.
2. They are repeatable, not one-per-account
Every one-time purchase here can be bought again, and this is deliberate. A 7-day pass is bought again when it runs out. Last Call is charged per listing, so an owner with three urgent listings buys it three times. Instant verification recurs if an account is ever re-verified.
3. Who charges you
- In the iPhone or Android app: Apple or Google charges your store account. PointRoost never sees your card.
- On the web: Stripe takes the payment. PointRoost never sees your card here either.
4. When you get it
Access is granted as soon as the store confirms the payment, which is usually immediate. Some payment methods settle later; the feature unlocks when the payment actually clears, not when it is started.
If you were charged and the feature did not unlock, contact us — that is a bug, and we will fix it rather than asking you to buy it again.
5. Refunds
Because these unlock immediately, they are generally not refundable once used. That does not override your legal rights, and it does not cover our mistakes.
Refunds are given where:
- you were charged twice for the same thing;
- you paid and never received the feature;
- the feature did not work and we could not fix it;
- your consumer law gives you the right.
Store purchases are refunded by Apple (reportaproblem.apple.com) or Google (Play Store → Account → Order history). Web purchases are refunded by us at support@pointroost.app.
6. What paying does not buy
This matters enough to be explicit:
- Skipper notifies you when a matching listing appears. It does not reserve anything, negotiate for you, or guarantee a match will ever exist.
- Last Call promotes a listing’s placement. It does not guarantee views, enquiries, or a rental.
- Instant verification removes the wait for a human reviewer. It does not guarantee a pass — if the documents do not support the claim, verification is refused, and that is a completed service rather than a failed one.
No paid feature makes PointRoost a party to your rental, or creates any guarantee about a transaction between members.
7. Founding Owner grants
Founding Owners receive Skipper permanently and free. It is granted by qualifying, never sold, and cannot be bought at any price.
8. Changes
Prices and features may change. A change never affects something you have already bought: a pass you hold runs its full term at the price you paid.
9. The rest
The Terms of Service cover everything else, including the limits of what PointRoost does.
